I’ve been working on this mosaic by myself off and on through the summer. This column will be the backdrop for the master bedroom. The family heirloom headboard/ bed will be here when the rest of the house is completed. I might mention that the customer is also a geologist!
My other duties include setting up crews, moving equipment and bidding work. My customers were gracious and understanding that I was only able to work on this a few hours or days at a time. Stone was bought from 7 different stone suppliers around the country. Varieties include basalt, quartzites, calcite, several onyx bands, geodes, various marbles, and obsidian. This is one of the most time-consuming projects I’ve ever taken on.
